Karibi Tamunoemi George is a teacher, lawyer, mediator and communications advisor.
He retired from the Rivers State Civil Service on October 31, 2023 as Director, Administration and Supplies/Public Relations in the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB), Port Harcourt.
Karibi George attended Baptist High School, Port Harcourt, holds a BA in English and an M.A in Oral Literature from the University of Jos, Nigeria; the Professional Diplomas of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON); the L.L.B from the Rivers State University (RSU); and the Barrister at Law (BL) from the Nigerian Law School upon which he was called to the Nigerian Bar. He also holds the Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
George is a Fellow (FNIPR) of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR); a member (rpa) of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON); a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA); a Certified Teacher (CT) by the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria; and an Associate Member (AICMC) of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), Nigeria.
An avid (Lawn) Tennis player, football follower, radio presenter and interactive Master of Ceremonies, Karibi is the author of four books; The Master of Ceremonies Handbook (2000), Write On, Civil Servant (2022); Tales from School of Laws (2022); and (ed) 100 Years of Worship and Ministry: The Story of First Baptist Church Port Harcourt 1922-2022, and many articles on literature, communications, law, and education. He is married and the marriage is blessed with children.
